Click the "Open GiroKonto" button to start. Enter your personal information (name, date of birth, nationality), your German address from Anmeldung, and choose your login credentials. Submit the form to receive your IBAN immediately.

After submitting your application, Comdirect will send you: application confirmation with your new IBAN, VideoIdent instructions for identity verification, pre-contractual information and cancellation policy, and order confirmation with all account details.
Tip: Check your spam folder if you don't receive emails within a few minutes. Save all documents in a safe place.

Verify Your Identity via VideoIdent
Open the VideoIdent link from your email or use the IDnow app. Connect with an agent via video call (5-10 minutes). Show your passport or ID card, follow the instructions, and confirm your identity. This can be done from the comfort of your home — no branch or post office visit needed.
Tip: Choose a well-lit, quiet place for the video call. Make sure your internet connection is stable. Have your passport or ID card within reach.

Within 1-2 business days after identity verification, download the photoTAN app. Log in with your participant number and PIN. Follow the on-screen instructions to scan the activation graphic and complete setup.
Tip: If you don't activate photoTAN within 3 hours, you'll receive an activation letter by post and won't be able to activate online anymore for security reasons.

Your Visa debit card PIN will arrive by mail separately, usually 2-3 days before the card. Keep it secure and do not share it.
Tip: Store the PIN in a secure password manager or write it down in a safe place until your card arrives.
